Termites

While getting our guest house ready for Granny Suzy we made a horrible discovery. The tenant we had in the property for a year prior was negligent, to say the least. A roof leak had worked its way into the bedroom creating a hole in the ceiling where water ran down the wall for who knows how long. The tenant never said a word. Rob started cutting into the ceiling to find out exactly where the leak was and little white bugs rained out of the ceiling. When the exterminator came he let us know that we had a healthy termite problem. So gross. We scheduled him right away to treat the entire property. Thank goodness we didn't have a problem down at the main house. Granny Suzy had to stay with us for a bit longer than planned to get it all taken care of. There was a small shed attached to the house and when we pulled up the floor to replace it there was evidence of activity there as well. So on June 12th Rob and I spent the day tearing it down while Aiden helped Granny do some cleaning inside.
