Car Wash Hero

After Aiden's preschool party I headed to the car wash before returning to work. The color brown on my white car is not appealing. There are vacuums where you wait in line so I went ahead and did that too. An older gentlemen pulled up next to me in a little yellow bug and began doing the same. As we both entered our cars another man pulled in as if he were going to cut in front of us both. The older gentlemen got out of his car and came to my window. He told me that I was there prior to him and to make sure to get in front of him. Then he angrily pointed to the impatient jerk and said "I don't know what this guy thinks he's doing though." I jokingly said, "Well it's looking like he's just going to push his way in. A lot of people are just that way." And to that my new friend replied, "Not today!" I was then instructed to pull up quickly when the line moved and to not let him in. As soon as the line moved the impatient guy of course tried to cut me off and before I knew what happened my hero in the little yellow bug pulled in front of the other guy's truck and got out of the car. Many words were exchanged but my new friend was not going to back down. He tipped his hat to me and moved his car so that I could go in front of them both. I laughed really hard and just had to take a picture of him through my side mirror. There are a lot of people that could care less about common courtesies, not this guy though. Thanks yellow bug guy!

Preschool Christmas Party

On December 15 Aiden had his preschool Christmas Party. He made a lovely green graham cracker house. He drew Brailey's name for the gift exchange and was very excited to give her a present. He got a pink monster truck from his friend Taylor. On the way to the library Aiden told me that he didn't like the song "Up on the Rooftop" and that he wasn't going to sing it. I encouraged him to do whatever Mrs. MerLee asked him to. Sure enough the song came. He started out strong but as soon as he realized that they were a line into "Up on the Rooftop" he quickly stopped the actions and singing. He stood still and quiet looking less than impressed until it was over. I have to laugh sometimes about how stubborn he is. When he makes up his mind he will not be swayed. It gets him in trouble now, but I know one day it will serve him well.

Bathtime With Daddy

Bath time with mom consists of get in, get clean, get out. Bath time with dad allows for a bit more fun.

The Nutcracker Ballet

After Aubrey's swim meet Granny Suzy took us to the Nutcracker Ballet at the high school. When it first started Aiden saw the men dancers come out and said, "I might want to be a boy ballerina." We said that would be fine, as he has a new aspiration about every hour. After it was over, he decided that he didn't want to be a boy ballerina because they have to dance like girls. He said he would rather be a boy dancer that dances like a boy. On the way home we saw some deer having a snack at the track.

Aubree's Swim Meet

On December 11th, our niece Aubree, had a swim meet in Rock Springs. She has really grown up. It was lots of fun to hang out with her and her little middle school friends.

Beauregard's Grill & Tavern

On December 04th we made a very quick trip to Colorado so that we could hang out on Beau's last night open. It seems like a very long time ago that I was a full time grad student bar tending nights at the restaurant. I have so many memories from that place, good and bad. Being there from the beginning I definitely saw all the ups, downs, and craziness in between. We helped Jonathan with some of the renovation process over 4 and 1/2 years ago. I remember being on strict bed rest, laying in an unfinished booth, while Rob and Jonathan worked. Aiden was six weeks old when we opened and Rob brought him to me every two hours so I could feed him. We raised our son at Beau's and it was a stepping stone for me while working towards my career. Cheers, for the last time Beauregard's!

Decorating For Christmas

On November 27th we decorated for Christmas in the snow. Aiden is a big fan of putting on all of his snow gear, and a big fan of wanting to take it all off 30 minutes later because he wants to go inside. Once we all warmed up we decorated our little tree and got out all of our Christmas stuff. The countdown is on at our house. Literally, it's on the fridge.
